i spent a few days up north in conferenceville, staying a twenty minute walk away from a building of small rooms where I’d spend hours being talked at about popular ways to shift zeros and ones from one place to another. there wasn’t time for much else – I never quite got the chance to visit an old favourite record shop, but leaving the overcrowded conference party early gave me the chance to walk home through the city at night. »
It’s a familiar journey from Brisbane airport, only this time I’m not staying at a hostel. The steady scrolling of morning lights as we approached, a thump and a roar as we touched down.
