yesterday i found myself angry at constantly needing to be polite to strangers. an old guy on a bike stopped to watch me take photos at an abandoned plot of land in the middle of richmond. i ignored his approach, pretending i couldn't hear him yelling at me until finally he tapped me on the shoulder. he demanded to know what i was doing. i just snapped. what business is it of anyone's if i want to take a goddamn photo from the sidewalk of a fence and plants in an abandoned plot of land? and why should i damn well be polite about it?

so i wasn't. it was rather liberating.

perhaps i should have attacked him for not wearing a helmet.
